Autopay
Autopay is a monthly payment program that allows customers to pay their annual registration and insurance in 12 installments (not necessarily 12 months).
How to Sign Up
If you would like to sign up for Autopay, come into one of our four Motor License Issuing offices with a direct deposit form or void cheque from your bank. A contract will be set up containing the financial institution information and authorization from the bank account holder to allow SGI to withdraw funds automatically from a chequing account. All authorized individuals must be present to sign for the Autopay contract. Please note that the Autopay contract cannot be set up to be charged to a credit card or for monthly withdrawals from a line of credit.
You will need to choose a date that will serve as your Funds Available Date each month. SGI will send the payment request to your bank at the end of business on that date each month, and your payment is usually withdrawn within a few days. Any missed payments will be attached to your SGI file along with an NSF fee and can be paid at any time in office, over the phone, or can be made up along with the next payment automatically. If two payments are missed consecutively and are not made up by the third, you will be taken off and ineligible for Autopay for twelve months. Your Funds Available Date can also be changed at any time, with payment only needing to be taken to cover from the day you change it to the updated Funds Available Date.

Annual Registration Eligibility Declaration
Autopay customers need to complete an annual Registration Eligibility Declaration for each vehicle on Autopay every year. Monthly withdrawals will continue to be taken from the associated bank account and the vehicle registration will be valid as long as automatic withdrawals remain in good standing and the customer declares their eligibility for Saskatchewan registration each year.
SGI is practicing due diligence by ensuring that only those eligible for Saskatchewan registration are insuring their vehicles through SGI. Like all vehicle owners, Autopay customers must answer a number of questions annually to demonstrate that they are still eligible for Saskatchewan registration. This protects our customer’s rates.
A declaration notice will be mailed to you each year prior to your declaration anniversary date (the date that used to be your renewal date). To make your declaration, simply visit your motor license issuer, give us a call to complete it over the phone, or use the MySGI online service available through your motor license issuer’s website.
It is important to make your declaration on time to avoid cancellation of your registration and insurance coverage.
Under the Autopay program, you’ll receive a continuous registration certificate. This is valid indefinitely, as long as your automatic withdrawals remain in good standing and you declare your continued eligibility for Saskatchewan registration each year.
