Customer payment plans are an option provided by SGI that is designed to organize your account receivables into monthly payments. Demerits onto your license are what makes up receivables and this program makes it much easier to pay them off.
Receivables– These are amounts owing to SGI due to demerits on your safe driver rating, $50 per point lost.
Payment Plans– Customers are given 90 days to pay off the receivables after this they are considered overdue. A customer with overdue receivables owing on their account will be refused products such as drivers licenses, registrations, and permits (certain products are exempt see bottom) unless they are set up on a customer payment plan towards the total amount owing.
Payments- can be made in office, through MYSGI or over the phone.
Any inquiries or changes can be made through an issuing office or by calling SGI’s Customer Service Center at 1-844-855-2744.
Eligibility– Customers are eligible for a payment plan if the total amount owing $100 or more, however they may be denied if they have been removed from a plan before. Payment plans split up the amount into installments over 12 or 24 month terms with a minimum down/ monthly payment of $25. Payment must be made once per month by the last business day in that month.
Voluntary Overpayment- You may choose to pay more than your minimum monthly payment at any time, any extra does not roll over into next month’s payment. Payments can also be split into smaller instalments throughout the month so long as the total paid throughout the month is equal to the minimum required amount.
Missed Payments- Missed payments are expected to be made up the month after along with that month’s payment. Two total missed payments will result in removal from the payment plan.
Refunds- Any refunds issued to the customer will be put towards the total receivable owing. This does not count towards the minimum monthly payment.
New Receivables- Any new receivables incurred while on a customer payment plan may result in the minimum payment amount being adjusted.
